Brewood Chess Circle

On Wednesday 5th June 2013, Brewood travelled the short distance to play Bushbury away in the Wolverhampton Chess Summer League 2013 Division 3 North.  It was the 2nd match of the 2013 Summer league season for Brewood, after winning the first match away to Cannock.  It turned out to be a defeat for us, against a good Bushbury team.

NB:  David Buckley was playing against us, for Bushbury. 

Having gone through my emails I noticed Andrew Davies sent me an email on Tuesday 11th June 2013 containing some detail about the boards 3 and 4 in this match.  Thanks Andrew. 

Board 3:  Simon Jones 1-0 Andrew Davies.  Andrew Davies reaction:  "I went a queen down on move 9.  It took until move 27 to exchange a rook for Simon's queen.  It was an interesting game." 

Board 4:  David Buckley ½ - ½ Paul Wright.  Andrew Davies reports:  "For the game between Paul and David, it ended with both sides having a bishop and pawns.  No way for either king to force their way through.  Hence the result."
