On Tuesday 11th June 2013, Brewood continued their Wolverhampton Chess Summer League 2013 Division 3 North season with a home match against Stafford. It was a disappointing defeat for Brewood, with defeats on board 2 for Andrew Davies, and on board 3 for Paul Wright, as a win on bottom board for David Blower, and a draw on top board for Stephen Micklewright was not enough.
Detailed board match reports for boards 1, 2, and 3 are not available...Read Full Post »

The Brewood A team won against the Stafford B team away from home, to leave them needing just a draw against the St. George's B team at home, to get promotion in the final match of the season. Getting the draw against St. George's B will of course be easier said than done, as they are top of the league and playing very well this season.

Next up for the A team is the away match against Stafford. It is an important match. From quite early on in the season it looked as though this was always going to be an important match, and so it has been proved. In the 10 match season, with 8 matches gone Stafford and Brewood are 2nd and 3rd, joint level on points, but Stafford lead on board count 26-23½. With 2 teams going up this could decide promotion.
Realistically Brewood need to wi...Read Full Post »
