B team in a "must win" match against Rushall C

The phrase "must win game" has probably become overused in competitive sport, but if the B team are to remain in division 3 this season, they probably do have to win the next match in the Wolverhampton Chess League against Rushall C.  This match is the 5th match out of the 6 matches between the various Brewood and Rushall teams this season, hopefully the B team can repeat their result against Rushall from earlier on in the season.

Brewood A 3.5 - 1.5 Rushall C

Brewood A won against the Rushall C chess team to take the team just 2 points behind Stafford B at the top of the league but with 2 games in hand.  The matches against Stafford B and St. George's B later on in the season already look to be as if they will be promotion deciding matches.  Whilst winning was good for the Brewood A team, it also helped the Brewood B team as Rushall C remain bottom.

Brewood v Rushall A - Cannock League - match preview

Rushall A travel to Brewood for the Cannock Chess League Division 3 match on Tuesday 15th January.  In theory at least Brewood have a more difficult match than when they play against Rushall B in the Cannock Chess League Division 3, later on in the season, but as we will see later on in the article playing against a stronger team on paper doesn't always mean better results at the chess board!

The various Rushall and Brewood teams will play each other 6 times this season...
