Brewood Chess Circle played a Cannock Chess League Division 3 fixture away to Wolverhampton Chess Club on Thursday 14th May 2015.
All players were present and accounted for, so no boards were defaulted.
The time controls for the game were 30 moves in 60 minutes, then back 20 minutes.

Brewood A won to put themselves in 2nd position with 3 games left of the season, level on points with Stafford B, but behind on board count. Brewood A also have a game in hand. This is a good position to be in, and it looks as though the league will now come down to the matches for Brewood A against Stafford B on Wednesday 13th March and St. George's B on Tuesday 19th March.

The Brewood A team now travel to Wolverhampton for a 4th v 3rd clash in which the winner (or Brewood if its a draw) are guaranteed to go up to 2nd place in the table. With that in mind and as its nearing the end of the season, tonights match against Wolverhampton is obviously an important match.

A narrow home defeat to the Wolverhampton B team keeps the Brewood B team in a dangerous position in the Wolverhampton Chess League Division 3 with the threat of relegation still looming. Wolverhampton B outgraded Brewood B on all of the top 4 boards.

Brewood return to action after the Christmas break and its straight into league action for the B team as they face a home match against Wolverhampton B. Should the Brewood B team win they will go above Wolverhampton B in the league.
