Brewood Chess Circle will today have the opportunity for the first time in 3 years to win a trophy. It has already been a very successful season in the Dudley Chess League Division 3 this season.

Halesowen Chess Club are one of the biggest local teams in the area. This means loads of teams and loads of fixtures to arrange for them, and it is not uncommon at Halesowen Chess Club for them to have 2 fixtures on the same night.
Halesowen have 12 chess teams competing in the Wolverhampton, Birminham, Dudley and Worcester Chess Leagues. This allows competitive action for chess players with a wide range of skill and ability.

Its fair to say that so far the first ever season in the Dudley Chess League Division 3 has been nothing short of excellent for Brewood. The team sit proudly at the top of the league unbeaten after half of the matches played.
A debut 3-1 victory over Kynoch started things off, with the team not losing on any of the boards. A useful 2-2 draw against Walsall Kipping followed but last time out against Mercia, Brewood produced a 4-0 win, winning on every board...Read Full Post »
