Brewood B travel to Halesowen needing to win to even have a chance to stay up. Even then they will be dependant on other results, but a draw or a loss for the club will lead to relegation.

The phrase "must win game" has probably become overused in competitive sport, but if the B team are to remain in division 3 this season, they probably do have to win the next match in the Wolverhampton Chess League against Rushall C. This match is the 5th match out of the 6 matches between the various Brewood and Rushall teams this season, hopefully the B team can repeat their result against Rushall from earlier on in the season.

After the B teams draw last time out against current top of the table side Stafford to help out the A team, they will look to repeat the trick against St Georges. Not that the B team players should need any motivation of helping out the A team to win though!

The away match for the Brewood B team against Stafford B in the Wolverhampton Chess League Division 3 was actually held at Brewood. Stafford must love Brewood Chess Circle as they managed to rearrange a fixture against us that was supposed to be our away match against them, to a Tuesday night in Brewood for the 2nd successive season!

A narrow home defeat to the Wolverhampton B team keeps the Brewood B team in a dangerous position in the Wolverhampton Chess League Division 3 with the threat of relegation still looming. Wolverhampton B outgraded Brewood B on all of the top 4 boards.

Brewood return to action after the Christmas break and its straight into league action for the B team as they face a home match against Wolverhampton B. Should the Brewood B team win they will go above Wolverhampton B in the league.
