The webmaster gives his apologizes about the awful match report title!  It is however, a statement of fact, as the Brewood B team got the first match point of the season with a 2½-2½ draw, away against Stafford B, on Wednesday 9th December 2015.  Here is the match card:

The Brewood B team start with narrow defeat - Halesowen B 3-2 Brewood B

The Brewood B team ran the Halesowen B team close, as the Wolverhampton Chess League 2015-2016 Division 3 season for the Brewood B team got off to a losing start, away against Halesowen B, on Tuesday 22nd September 2015.

Brewood B team stay up after win at Rushall - Rushall B 2-3 Brewood B

The final match of the season for the Brewood B team was away to Rushall B on Monday 23rd February 2015.  The team won 3-2 meaning we have secured safety in division 3 of the Wolverhampton & District Chess League for another season.  Details of how we did it follow in the match report but first here is the matchcard:

The fixtures are out

The Wolverhampton Chess League fixtures are out for the 2014-2015 season, subject to final confirmation from the Wolverhampton Chess League.  


These fixtures cover both the A team in the Wolverhampton Chess League division 2, and also the B team in the Wolverhampton Chess League division 3.  The date of our Humphreys Trophy fixture a 1st round and also a quarter final fixture away to Wolverhampton has also been agreed.  The full details of everything will fol...

I can only say I felt sorry for both Chris Haddon (Halesowen board 4) and Joyce Evans (Halesowen board 5) as they left Brewood Chess club on Tuesday 11th March 2014.  This was the date that Brewood B played against Halesowen B in the Wolverhampton Chess League 2013-2014 season division 3 match.

Paul Guest steps down from committee and as B team captain

Paul Guest has stepped down from being on the club committee and as the Wolverhampton League B team captain, due to work reasons, but nevertheless will still remain a member of the club and will continue to participate in playing chess.  The club thanks him for his hard work in performing the two roles as the Wolverhampton League B team captain and as a club committee member.

As well as the Wolverhampton Chess League 2013-2014 fixtures for the A team being decided in the fixtures meeting, the fixtures for the B team were also decided at the same meeting.  For the 3rd season in a row the B team are in division 3 of the Wolverhampton Chess League.  In division 3 there are 7 teams, and each team plays each other team twice, once home and once away, for a total of 12 fixtures, 6 at home and 6 away.  In alphabetical order these are the teams including Br...

Brewood B team stay up on board count

The website can confirm after the Walsall Kipping B team lost away to the Wolverhampton B team on Thursday 14th March that the Brewood B team have stayed up.  Both the Brewood B team and the Walsall Kipping B team had 7 points each, but the Brewood B team had the better board count 22 compared to Walsall Kippings either 18½ or 19.
