Team captain comments:

The team captain David Blower had this to say about the season in the Shropshire Rapid Play League so far:  "It was good to win a game on match night 1 after our winless run last season.  We faced a very strong Church Stretton team on the evening and faced a tough match also against Wellington.  It was also good to see that each individual player on the evening got at least one win each."

Looking ahead to the rest of the season David Blower said:  "As always we look forward to hosting our home match night later on in the season.  Whilst the chess is competitive, the evenings are always a more sociable affair than the normal run-of-the-mill standard play league matches and our players enjoy playing in the league.  I am hopeful we will be competing for promotion at the end of the season."
