Outgraded but not outclassed - St. George's B 1.5 - 4.5 Brewood A

On Monday 23rd September 2013, the Brewood A team travelled to St. George's chess club to play an away match against St. George's B in the first match of Brewood's Wolverhampton Chess League 2013-2014 division 2 season.  Here is the match card:

A St. George's parade for the Brewood A team - Brewood A 2.5 - 2.5 St. George's B

The Brewood A team completed their season with a draw against St. George's B.  Before the match started the team already knew they had finished at least runners up, and were guaranteed promotion to Wolverhampton Chess League Division 2. 

 

This was because last week the only other team who could catch up with us for the runners up spot, Stafford B, played away against Wolverhampton B on Thursday April 4th.  Stafford B needed to win the match to move up into th...

The B team look to do the A team a favour again!

After the B teams draw last time out against current top of the table side Stafford to help out the A team, they will look to repeat the trick against St Georges.  Not that the B team players should need any motivation of helping out the A team to win though! 


St Georges as well as Stafford and Brewood are looking to win the league this season.  They are in 3rd place, but they do have a game in hand over the Brewood A team, and also 2 games in hand over Staff...
