Should Brewood gain promotion it would mean that the chess club would be playing in division one of the Wolverhampton Chess League for the first time ever in the club's history.

It has being a while since we have welcomed Rushall to Brewood. Mark Binfield has taken to captaincy like a duck to water! He also managed to do probably the best announcement of the entire season.
Mark Binfield: "Welcome to Rushall for this Wolverhampton Summer League match, division 3 I believe, it doesn't get better than this!" This is where the title of the match report comes from. It certainly could not have gone any better for the ...Read Full Post »

The phrase "must win game" has probably become overused in competitive sport, but if the B team are to remain in division 3 this season, they probably do have to win the next match in the Wolverhampton Chess League against Rushall C. This match is the 5th match out of the 6 matches between the various Brewood and Rushall teams this season, hopefully the B team can repeat their result against Rushall from earlier on in the season.
Rushall are bottom of the divisi...Read Full Post »

Brewood A won against the Rushall C chess team to take the team just 2 points behind Stafford B at the top of the league but with 2 games in hand. The matches against Stafford B and St. George's B later on in the season already look to be as if they will be promotion deciding matches. Whilst winning was good for the Brewood A team, it also helped the Brewood B team as Rushall C remain bottom.
Detailed match reports are unavailable for each board but ...Read Full Post »
