It has been another busy winter league season for Brewood Chess Circle with it being a successful season on the board as we won the Chase Trophy run by the Cannock Chess League, and surviving relegation by finishing 5th in the Wolverhampton Chess League Division Two.

The Brewood A team managed to secure a w in when a draw would have been a sufficient enough result to make sure that we would survuve relegation.

Brewood Chess Circle entered into three different cup competitions so far this season. It is fair to say that we have faired better in some of the cup competitions than others.

The Cannock Chess League 2017-2018 Division Two season sees Brewood compete in a league with six teams, including ourselves. Home and away fixtures have been agreed so that each team has a total of ten fixtures. The other teams in the league are Lichfield, Rugeley, Rushall, Tamworth and Wolverhampton.

The Wolverhampton Chess League 2017-2018 Division Two fixture against Kidderminster A away originally scheduled for Wednesday 27th September 2017 has now being rearranged and confirmed for Wednesday 15th November 2017.
All the other fixtures remain unchanged. This means that Brewood will now start the season away against Stourbridge B on Wednesday 11th October 2017.
